Conditions in Dublin remain poor this morning so motorists are urged to slow down on the roads. A status yellow rain warning remains in place until midday today.
Met Eireann says it will be 'cold, breezy and showery, with more prolonged rain at times, some hail also with the risk of isolated thunderstorms and local spot flooding.'
There is better news for the rest of the day with the rain due to ease off in the afternoon.
AA Roadwatch are warning that the roads are damp or wet in much of the country especially along the East Coast.
