Puppies have been seized in two separation operations at Dublin Port.

They were found after Revenue Officers stopped and searched vehicles boarding ferries for Great Britain.

Neither of the two drivers had pet passports for the pups, and none of the pups, a West Highland Yorkie and four Jack Russells, were microchipped which is required by law.

They've been transferred into the care of the DSPCA and a follow-up investigation is underway.
