Dublin City Council has lodged a planning application for the re-development of Dalymount Park.

The local authority says the architect-lead design team will continue to engage with the FAI and Bohemians FC during the process.

Dublin City Council says the plan is to establish a four-sided municipal stadium with a capacity of just over 8,000.

It will include tweaking the angle of the pitch to North South - as opposed to the current orientation.

New stands to the East and West side will provide over 6,200 seats and terraces at each end will cater for around 1,800 standing fans.

The first phase of works to get the process underway have been completed, which included demolishing the Connaught Street stand.

At the moment it's expected to be finished in time for the 2027 season, but Dublin City Council says that's depending on funding becoming available for construction.

Bohemians FC says it's delighted to mark such a significant day, and has called on Government to make sure the cash is there to get the project over the line.
