A man in his twenties has been attacked with what's believed to have been a machete.
It happened in Ashbourne this morning, and the victim has been taken to hospital in Blanchardstown.
The assault on the pedestrian happened at around 11.20am by a man carrying a weapon.
The victim in his 20s was taken to James Connolly Memorial Hospital in Blanchardstown with serious but non life threatening injuries.
Gardai are searching for the attacker, who's suspected of driving towards Dublin in a silver Golf.
