Irish rugby star Ronan O'Gara has apologised for a throw-away comment he made about his wife on The Late Late Show.
During a talk about his life and sporting career, host Ryan Tubridy said "you've scored 2,625 points for Munster, and you have five kids under the age of 6..."
"These are the two numbers that impress me most, but I want to know which are most proud of?"
ROG replied "well, I wouldn't be nervous getting up on Jessica, but I would be nervous kicking a ball."
The audience, and Ryan, gasped and jeered, which then left poor Ronan stumbling through the next part of his chat.
RTE says no complaints were made, but Ronan's offered up an apology just in case.
Back home in Paris. I have apologised to @jessieog and i'm also sorry if i offended anyone else with my very poor joke on @RTELateLateShow.
