Nurse Recovers After Carjacking Outside Hospital

A nurse is recovering after a carjacking outside a city centre hospital yesterday.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the terrifying ordeal outside Temple Street.

The attack happened at around 6:30am as the night nurse was about to move her car from the staff car park on Georges Street yards from where she works at Temple Street Children's Hospital.

She was making way for her colleagues who were starting the day shift.

The woman in her mid 30s was approached by a man as she was getting into her car and dragged out of it.

The attacker, who its believed was covered, in blood ripped the keys out of her hand and fled the scene in the Hill Street direction.

The car was later found burnt out in the Store Street area.

No arrests have been made and gardai are appealing for witnesses.
