The Government's been accused of sleep-walking through the housing crisis.

Dublin City Council's housing list has spiked by more than 2 thousand over the past year - with over 27 thousand 600 people now waiting for accommodation.

The chairperson of the city's housing committee, Councillor Daithi Doolan says "it takes years to produce the housing that is so urgently needed for this city and that simply is not good enough".

He adds "the Minister needs to wake up, realise we're in a housing crisis and respond appropriately".
