Michaella McCollum is set to take an Irish daily newspaper to court.
The convicted drug mule has issued legal proceedings over what her solicitor says was an incident of intimidating harassment in the Miraflores area of Lima, Peru on Sunday.
Ms McCollum was released from jail in the South American country last week and is expected to serve the rest of her six and a half year term for smuggling cocaine on parole there.

It comes as Michaella faces a storm of criticism for taking part in a TV interview directly after her release from prison.
