Transport Infrastructure Ireland is looking for a "concept architect" to work on the MetroLink.
Today's Herald reports that the contract is worth around €2.5 million euro, and will run for around 9 years.
The planned north-south urban railway service will run for 19 kilometres between Swords and Charlemont.
The proposed route will link Dublin Airport, Irish Rail, Dart, Dublin Bus and Luas Services.
Included in the plans are 15 new stations along the line and 3,000 extra park and ride car parking spaces.
It's expected a journey time from Swords to the city centre will be around 25 minutes.
Construction Start Date
It is expected that building work will begin in 2021 and it's hoped the first passengers will be on board in 2027.
It's still unclear how much the project will cost- initial estimates suggest around €3 billion.
