Met Eireann has issued a rainfall warning for the entire country. The yellow alert is in place until 3am on Saturday morning.
The forecaster says there'll be heavy rain across the day and is warning of spot flooding as a result.
"Heavy thundery downpours will give high totals of rainfall in short spaces of time today/early tonight leading to localised spot flooding", a spokesperson for Met Eireann said.

Friday
There will be heavy rain this morning which will clear to showers in the afternoon, some very heavy and thundery, with a risk of local flooding.
It will be warm and humid with temperatures ranging between 19 to 21 degrees.
There will be good clear spells early tonight but some heavy showers are likely later in the night. Lows of 12 to 14 degrees.
Saturday
It's looking like Saturday will be mainly dry with some sunny spells and a few showers early on. Highest temperatures of around 20 degrees in fresh West to Northwest winds.
