Meet Poncho. He is reason #789810178 to love dogs.

The pooch, who works with the Municipal Police of Madrid, has become an Internet sensation, after a video of him practicing CPR was shared online at the weekend.

The video, shared by the official account of the Madrid Police Department, shows Poncho carrying out CPR on a policeman.

The tweet read: "Heroic performance of our four-legged companion Poncho, who did not doubt for a moment to 'save the life' of the agent, practicing #CPR in a masterful way."

In the 42-second long video, an officer pretends to collapse, when Poncho rushes to the scene and begins jumping on his chest and taking breaks to listen for breaths.

In the Twitter post, Madrid Police shared a quote from the American writer Henry Wheeler Shaw:

"A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than he loves himself".
