It's been confirmed that Conor McGregor will make his eagerly anticipated return to the octagon in October.

The mixed martial arts fighter will take on Khabib Nurmagomedov in Las Vegas at UFC 229.

The pair's rivalry boiled over in April when McGregor was seen throwing a trolley at a bus containing Khabib and his team-mates in New York.

He's since accepted a charge of disorderly conduct and agreed to have anger management treatment.

It's the Dublin fighters first fight in the Octagon in two years - the last MMA fight was against Eddie Alvarez at Madison Square Garden in November 2016 where he became the first fighter to hold two UFC belts.

He's since gone on to fight a highly publicised boxing match against Floyd Mayweather and had to forfeit his lightweight belt due to inactivity in the Octagon.
