Conor McGregor's trainer wants to offer women free jiu jitsu classes to help protect them from 'lunatics' like Mark Hennessy.

The Dublin dad-of-two abducted 24 year old Jastene Valdez from Enniskerry on Saturday and her body was found tangled in gorse in the Dublin mountains on Monday.

Head coach John Kavanagh has told 98FM's Dublin Talks that he felt he 'had to do something' after details of the horrific kidnapping emerged.

He's offering free self-defence classes to women would give them a chance in the case of an attack.

Girls get in difference self defence situations than guys. Guys tend to be in punch ups outside bars on Saturday night. For women are more likely to be in situations where they're grabbed or pinned and Brazilian jiu jitsu is very effective at getting out of those situations.

John says the classes would take place in his gym before it opens on a Saturday morning, in case women would feel intimidated by the idea of training alongside the male members.
