The deputy leader of Sinn Féin is in looking for a head to head debate with our Tanaiste.
Mary Lou McDonald's told her party's Ard Fheis in Derry that TV stations had scheduled the debate but Joan Burton was now refusing to take part.
However, a spokesperson for the Tánaiste says she recently debated with the Sinn Féin leader Gerry Adams.
