The suspected murderer of Jastine Valdez died from a single gunshot wound to his shoulder which ricocheted into his head.

Mark Hennessy is believed to have abducted the 24 year old student before killing her.

The dad-of-two from Bray was shot dead by Gardai who were searching for Jastine.

Jastine’s violent death and last week’s killing of Ana Kriegal have led to calls for a review into femicide in Ireland.

Gardai have launched a fresh appeal for information on the movements of Mark Hennessy, the suspected abductor of Jastine Valdez.

They want to speak to anyone who may have seen the dad of two and his Nissan Qashqai car over the weekend.

They say the 40 year old may have stopped at restaurants, cafes, shops or petrol stations in South Dublin.

These areas include Dalkey, Killiney, Ballybrack, Sallynoggin, Cherrywood and Rathmichael.

Gardai have asked for privacy for the Valdez family, and have thanked "the public, the media, the Defence Forces and Civil Defence for their assistance in this investigation."
