The victim suffered a gunshot wound to the head during the attack in the Moatview area at around 8.15pm.

He was treated by paramedics at the scene before being rushed to hospital.

Gardai are investigating whether the shooting may be linked to a local crime gang.

At this stage it's not believed to be connected to the Hutch Kinahan gangland war.
