A 21 year old man is due in court in Glasgow later, in connection with the death of Karen Buckley.
The family of the 24 year old nurse said they were ‘absolutely heartbroken’ when her remains were officially identified.
The suspect, arrested by police yesterday morning will appear at a closed sitting of Glasgow Sheriff’s court.
Glasgow Police confirmed the worst fears, when they said remains found at a farm north of Glasgow on Wednesday, were those of the Cork student.
Karen’s family, who had travelled from Ireland and Australia in the hours after Karen’s disappearance, have appealed to be left alone, to grieve in private.
Meanwhile a vigil is being organised in honour of Karen in Glasgow this evening.
Hundreds of people have been invited to gather in George Square at 5pm to remember the nurse.
