A man in his 50s has died following a drowning incident in Dun Laoghaire earlier today.
It happened around midday when Gardai and the Coast Guard were called to the West Pier where a passer-by spotted a man in the water.
Rescue teams found him unresponsive, and his body has since been recovered and taken to Loughlinstown Hospital.
A post mortem is due to take place.
