A convicted child abuser has pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting two girls as they made their way to a Rihanna concert.

53-year-old John Daly from Cabra Park in Phibsboro admitted carrying out the assaults on the LUAS two years ago.

After he was arrested, Daly admitted that he deliberately got on the LUAS to touch young girls and get sexually aroused.

It happened as they were making their way to a Rihanna concert on October 3rd 2011.

His victims were aged 13 and 16 at the time.

One of his victims told Gardai that she felt she had no way out because she was being squashed against a bar on the packed LUAS.

Daly was arrested three months later as he was about to board a tram at the O2 following a One Direction concert.

13 years ago, Daly was jailed for three years after pleading guilty to the attempted rape and indecent assault of 2 young girls in the 1980's

He was remanded in custody at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court today and he’s due to be sentenced in January
