One of Dublin's most popular taxi companies is looking for drivers to help it start a new delivery business.

Lynk will begin delivering packages and parcels from next month, with plans to eventually offer food deliveries.

The popular app company is looking to work with up to 250 legal drivers who have their own car and smartphone.

"The 250 jobs are on offer for people who have access to their own vehicle, valid insurance and in possession of a full driving licence and smartphone", a statement read.

It described the roles as "flexible", explaining that drivers can "control their own income and schedule as they will be paid generously via commission".

CEO Noel Ebbs, who helped launch the taxi app, has denied the new arm of the company is being designed to rival companies like Deliveroo.

"We're starting in the corporate sector, and while we will be moving into other sectors for sure, we don't see ourselves as moving into anyone else's space".

"I wouldn't particularly say we are rivalling Deliveroo", he told 98FM News.

Legal car-owners interested in getting involved in Lynk Delivers can find out more here.
