Love/Hate actor Stephen Clinch is due to apply to the High Court for bail this afternoon.

He was refused bail last week after being charged over an armed robbery at The Gate Hotel on Parnell Street.

Stephen Clinch, better known as Noely in Love/Hate, is accused of being one of two men who stole €50,000 from The Gate Hotel last Monday week.

A gun was pointed at the head of a security worker and the actor allegedly took aim at a hotel worker while trying to make his escape.

The actor appeared in court last week with his co-accused, Hugh McSweeney of Main St, Belmayne in Malahide, but was refused bail.

Gardai objected on several grounds including the seriousness of the charge and the likely sentence if found guilty.

The 49-year-old is due to appear before the High Court this morning where he’ll try another attempt to secure bail.
