The Irish Mail On Sunday is reporting security will be beefed up due to recent international attacks on parliaments and growing unrest here at home.
Airport style security scanners will be installed, along with new anti-bandit screens of toughened glass and internal CCTV and alarm systems will be upgraded.
According to a document entitled Proposals On Improvements To Leinster House Security Review 2014 these measurements would make the Oireachtas complex the most secure public building in the country.
