Legendary broadcaster Gay Byrne will travel through the city one last time before he is laid to rest in Sutton.

The TV and radio star passed away on Monday at the age of 85 after battling cancer.

Taoiseach Leo Vardakar and President Michael D Higgins are expected to be among the mourners.

The funeral cortege will leave Howth at 11am travelling through the village heading towards the Clontarf Road, along Amiens Street and over the quays.

It will then take in O'Connell Street, making its way to St Mary's Pro Cathedral for funeral mass at 11.45am.

Members of the public have been told that access to the church will be extremely limited with seating reserved for family and friends.

The former Late Late show host will be laid to rest at St Fintan's cemetery in Sutton this afternoon.
