Krispy Kreme sold 6.6 million doughnuts to Irish customers in the past year.

The shop in Blanchardstown - the company's most successful store internationally - is open one year today.

More than 600,000 customers have been into the outlet to eat their treats.

The Original Glazed doughnut is the most popular, with one being sold every two minutes.

Visually, this would be a line of doughnuts side by side stretching from Dublin to Dundalk and back.

The next most-popular is the Nutty Chocolatta doughnut and the Krispy Kreme single 'Bites'.

While on Valentine's Day alone, over 10,000 heart-shaped doughnuts were served.

Alex Drysdale is Krispy Kreme country director for Ireland: "This year has been truly remarkable for the brand and I speak for the entire team at the store when I say a big 'thank you' to all our customers for making it a year to remember."
