The Judge is charging the jury in the trial of a man accused of the rape and sexual assault of two sisters.

The 37 year accused has pleaded not guilty to the charges which are alleged to have happened in a house in Louth and a Dublin hotel.

The court heard the girls were young when the accused became involved with their family and they went to live in Co Louth.

The older girl said she was around 12 year’s old when she went with the accused to Dublin during the snowy weather in December 2010.

She said they went to stay in a hotel where she alleges he raped her.

She said she was young and in denial and believe the alleged sexual abuse was normal.

The jury has also been played garda interviews with her younger sister who told a garda she was really nervous talking about it and said ‘I’ll just pretend, I’m talking to my bears.’

The Judge is going through the evidence in the case to the jurors and they will then begin their deliberations.
