Former junior minister Ivor Callely has been bailed while he tries to secure early release from prison.
The former politician of St Lawrence’s Road in Clontarf has been serving a 5 month sentence for fraud.
Ivor Callely will walk free from Wheatfield prison after 3 and a half months behind bars for making bogus mobile phone expense claims.
He's been granted bail by the high court while he challenges the refusal of prison bosses and the Justice Minister to grant him early release.
He says he's a model prisoner and is being unfairly punished for being a politician.
However he's been warned that if he loses his case he's have to go back to prison to finish his sentence.
