Staff at Irish Rail are a step closer to industrial action - after voting to reject pay cuts.
SIPTU members at the company narrowly voted 53 to 47 per cent against the Labour Court recommendations - which would see temporary cuts phased in over a 25 month period.
Union organiser Paul Cullen says it's now up to Irish Rail to prevent a strike - but no action will be taken until the company imposes the cuts.
He says pay reductions should be taken off the table.
