There's been an increase in the number of civil weddings here with 29 percent of ceremonies last year being non - religious.
That's up 26 percent since 2007.
However there's been a decrease in the number of marriages taking place since then after a period of growth between 2000 and 2007.
In another development, outdoor weddings were given the green light after clarification from the government.
It followed a dispute between a leading organiser of secular weddings and the Registrar General.
Marriages can be solemnised outdoors as long as the place was open to the public.
