A huge crowd turned out on yesterday's sunny evening for the most sombre of occasions; a vigil to remember Jastine Valdez.

A minute’s silence was held for the 24 year old who was abducted from Enniskerry and murdered on Saturday.

One woman told 98FM News "I used to see her on the road. When I was going to work I'd know if I was early or late by where she was along the road. I often wondered who she was and where she was going. I didn't even know her. But it suddenly dawned on me on Saturday, God I know who that girl is."

Gardai are continuing to appeal for information on the movements of her suspected abductor Mark Hennessy over the weekend.

The Dublin dad of two was shot dead by Gardai on Sunday.

It's reported detectives are investigating whether he went on a drink and drugs binge just hours after Jastine was killed.
