The Housing Minister has agreed to cycle to Electric Picnic this summer to help raise money for charity.

The Tour De Picnic is now in its 10th year, and those who cycle from Dublin to Stradbally will be helping the Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation, ISPCC and Headway Ireland.

Eoghan Murphy intends to cycle the full 80km route - assuming no major government business crops up around August 31st.

Irish Dairy – The Complete Natural has been announced as the Title Sponsor of the 2018 Tour De Picnic.

Zoe Kavanagh CEO of the National Dairy Council suggested those taking part could use dairy to "support exercise and training".

This year, the route will be slightly different and those taking part can choose which of the three charities they want to raise money for.

Brian McDermott Organiser of Tour De Picnic, has admitted he "can’t believe it’s been 10 years" since the first event.

People who place a €50 deposit and raise at last €395 will book a place in the cycle as well as securing free entry to Electric Picnic 2018.

Cyclists will also be given refreshments along the route, and have a beer and a burger waiting for them in Stradbally - as well as baggage transfer and a bus ticket home!
