Five children are losing their family homes each week.

That's according to Focus Ireland, who are making an urgent Christmas Appeal for donations.

In Dublin, the number of families that are losing their homes has doubled this year.

16 families are becoming homeless in the capital every month, that's up from 8 earlier in the year.

The charity said there has been a rise of 18 per cent rise in the number of people seeking its help after losing their homes or at risk of losing their home.
