Health Minister Says Abortion Laws Too Harsh

Doctors in Ireland are forced to make decisions based on the law, and not on good medicine.

That's according to the Minister for Health, who says Ireland's laws on abortion are too harsh and have a chilling effect.

Leo Varadkar says the lives of some Irish women are put at risk by laws forcing them to continue with their pregnancy.

But he says liberal abortion laws also have their risks:
