A court’s heard the wife of a 20 year old man on trial for murder claimed the alleged victim had taken her watch.
Martin Keenan of Cardiffsbridge Avenue in Finglas has gone on trial accused of murdering Wesley Mooney at a halting site in Dublin.
The court’s heard in the early hours of June the 6th 2016 emergency services attended St Joseph’s Park halting site on Dunsink Lane in Finglas
There - they found a man lying face up on the decking area outside a mobile home and attempts to revive him were unsuccessful.
It’s the Prosecution’s case that the accused Martin Keenan murdered this man – Wesley Mooney- with garden shears. He has pleaded not guilty.
A garda told the court he found the alleged murder weapon during a search of the halting site a few hours later.
The trial also heard from a forensic officer who analysed the accused’s clothing and said she found a small bit of the deceased’s blood in his runner. She was also given a watch to examine.
The forensic officer told the court she was told the wife of the accused said the watch belonged to her and the deceased Wesley Mooney had taken it.
