Members of the public who live in Dublin are being asked if the property tax should be upped or lowered.

People have until the 13th of August to have their say on the council website - dublincity.ie.

Local authorities can vary the tax by up to 15 percent from next year.

Last night Fingal Co. Council became the first local authority in Dublin to vote to reduce the tax in 2015, which could save residents up to 100 euro.

Local Fianna Fail Councillor Jack Chambers says the government also has its part to play..
