A father and his three sons have gone on trial accused of murdering a man in what was described as a “brutal and ferocious attack” in west Dublin.

Paul Bradley and his sons Dean, Jason and Ryan from Liscarne Gardens in Ronanstown ideny murdering Neil Reilly in January 2017.

Outlining the prosecution’s case this afternoon, Paul Murray told the jury the alleged murder took place in the early hours of Jan 18th last year.

He said the four accused were in their home at around 4am when Neil Reilly fired a shotgun at their house.

He said it would be alleged that he then left the scene in a van and that Paul Bradley and his sons gave chase in a jeep and a black BMW.

Mr. Murray claimed he abandoned the van and got into a Mazda car that came to a halt after crashing in Lucan.

He said he was then subjected to a “savage, brutal and ferocious attack”. He said he suffered seven blows with a chopping-like instrument and severe crush injuries consistent with being run over before being left for dead.

Mr. Murray claims Paul Bradley and his sons Dean, Jason and Ryan were willing and knowing participants in his death. They deny the charge.
