Family, friends and fans of Dolores O'Riordan have said their final goodbye to the Cranberries singer.

The 46-year-old - who was found dead in a London hotel last week - has been laid to rest in Limerick.

A recording of Dolores O’Riordan’s duet with Pavarotti was played as mourners gathered at St Ailbe’s Church in Ballybriken – the same place she sang in the choir as a child.

Her mother Eileen, children Taylor, Molly and Dakota, their father Don and her stepson Donnie along with her extended family have come together to say their final goodbyes.

A platinum disc and a guitar, as well as a book of poetry were brought to the altar representing her life and career.

Chief Celebrant and close family friend Canon Liam McNamara said Dolores reached out to the world putting Limerick on the map.

"Her kind personality and her beautiful singing voice which has been heard all over the world earned her numerous admirers and followers".

"It must be added that people she rescued many people from darkness in their own lives", he said.

Dolores will be laid to rest beside her father Terry and baby brother Gerard – whose anniversary also occurs today - at a private family burial.
