Gardai are appealing for information about an aggravated burglary of an elderly man in Malahide.
The terrifying ordeal took place between 3 and 3:30 on Monday afternoon when a man forced his way into the pensioner's house on Old Street.
The 78 year old was threatened with a knife before being locked in a room.
The burglar left the house with a small quantity of jewellery.
The man was physically unhurt in the incident.
Gardai are appealing for anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area to come forward.
