A new park on the southside has opened to the public this New Years Eve.
Fernhill Park and Gardens was bought by Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council two years ago at a cost of €4.25m and has been redeveloped for the local community.
The estate dates back to around 1723 and the family residence on the land is believed to have been built in the 1860s.
There'll be more parts of the gardens opened as the redevelopment continues over the next two years.
DLR Cathaoirleach Tom Murphy says it will be a fantastic amenity for the people of Stepaside, Kilternan and Sandyford.
'It's another "green lung" that people can access some open space. There's a lot of apartments in this part of Dublin. There's going to be organic gardens, a coffee shop and an interactive play area for children as well.'
