A Dublin teenager has become one of the first in Ireland or Britain to undergo a new life-saving kidney transplant procedure.
14 year old Megan Carter from Coolock underwent the operation in London's Great Ormond Street Hospital three months ago and doctors are now hailing the procedure as a success.
The new treatment allows for successful transplants in patients like Megan whose body rejected previous donor kidneys.
Megan's mother Carol says the future is bright for her daughter.
