A Dublin paramedic missed nearly three months work after being seriously assaulted when dealing with an emergency.
He was punched in the face by a patient in the city centre last year and had his front-teeth knocked out.
Sinead McGrath, from the National Ambulance Representative Association, says this incident is a disgrace.
But, she said, this was not an isolated incident.
Details of the assault have been released under the Freedom of Information Act.
