The company behind the app which lets drivers pay for street parking in Dublin says anyone clamped while its service was down earlier should contact it directly.

Parking Tag says its app was offline for around fifteen minutes this morning, while teams fixed "intermittent issues".

The firm says any customer who was wrongly clamped after thinking they'd paid will have their case reviewed.

Parking Tag said some customers were experiencing "intermittent issues" earlier this morning, and the issue was identified "just before 11am".

"In order to mitigate this we implemented an emergency fix which took the service down for approx. 15 minutes", the company said.

It had advised drivers to pay using on-street meters to make sure their parking was covered while the issue was being fixed.
