Dublin Councils To Reject Criticism From Housing Minister

It's expected four Dublin local authorities will reject suggestions made by the Housing Minister that they're not acting quickly enough on the housing crisis.

Eoghan Murphy singled out the authorities for criticism last week, when he claimed they were not meeting targets set for providing accommodation.

He also said he would use emergency powers to transfer responsibility for providing emergency accommodation to his department.

According to the Irish Times Minister Murphy sent letters to the chief executives of the four Dublin local authorities, setting out a series of targets on housing which must be met by the end of the year.
