Dublin City Council has turned down plans for a seven storey shared living development in Rathmines.

The local authority said the level of shared facilities on each floor for occupants was "objectionable".

Bartra Capital are behind the proposals for this development in Rathmines.

According to today's Herald, the plans involved 102 build to rent bedrooms.

Images of the rooms in the plans suggest the bed and chairs would have to be stored in order to use the room for living space.

The proposals also include a single kitchen/living area per floor.

That would cater for 13 to 18 residents on each level.

The decision follows Bartra securing planning for a shared-living 208 unit proposal in Dun Laoghaire earlier this year.
