Radical changes to Dublin's bus network will see the numbering system scrapped and replaced with letters instead.
It follows last month's announcement by the National Transport Authority that it would be expanding 16 bus corridors across the city to give double-deckers continuous priority when travelling into town from places like Swords, Finglas, Rathfarnham and Bray.

There'll be eight different 'spines' by which buses move through the city, labelled A to G and numbers will be used to show variations of the route eg on the A route the A1 will go to Knocklyon while the A2 travels to Tallaght.
Fares will be simplified so a 90-minute fare will allow you to take any combination of bus, Dart and Luas for a journey. There'll also be a short distance fare for particularly short journeys.

An American transport firm has created the new design. Jarrett Walker & Associates insists it will result in increased frequency and a 27% rise in services.
