A DNA test has proved that a Spanish woman is not the daughter of Salvador Dali.

A Spanish TV fortune-teller has claimed she was conceived during an affair her mother had with the artist in 1955.

Maria Pilar Abel Martinez has been fighting to have Dali recognised as her father since 2007.

Dali's body was exhumed in July in order to allow experts carry out DNA tests.

However, the Dali Foundation now says the tests have shown "that Pilar Abel is not Dali's daughter".

The famed artist died in 1989, at the age of 84.
