33 Dart passengers escaped without injury last night after their train hit rocks between Bray and Greystones.

Two sets of wheels came off the track as a result of the impact near a tunnel about a mile from Bray station.

The passengers in four carriages on board the ten-past eleven service from Greystones to Connolly station and its driver were unhurt.

A statement from Irish Rail in the early hours of this morning said arrangements were being made to bring people on to their destinations.

The rail line is closed this morning and Dublin Bus will accept rail tickets for travel to and from Greystones.

Bus transfers will be arranged for Intercity and commuter services that use the line.

Irish rail is also advising that service arrangements will be updated on their website, and twitter feed.
