A two-day celebration of the Irish love affair with crisps gets underway today!

The Eatyard Crisp Festival features an extensive crisp menu, with a series of pop up events and food stalls including a Crisp Tuck Shop.

It runs until Sunday several attractions on offer, including:

  • Blind Crisp Tasting Contests
  • Jonnie Onion Ring Challenge
  • DIY Crisp Sambo Making Competition
  • Crispy Quiz
  • Bottomless Crunch
  • Crisp & Pint Deals
  • DJs, Bands & Entertainers

The first ever Irish crisp festival was held in the EatYard's Portobello location in 2018 and made it's return last year in Drumcondra.

Tickets are €10 and include a packet of crisps (of your choosing) and a pint on arrival.

Mr. Tayto himself will kick off the festival this evening at 6pm!

In a statement about the weekend the Bernard Shaw said:

"We Wheelie love crisps here in Ireland, be it wafer thin slices of deep fried spuds or corn shaped snacks with filthy, delicious flavours. The darlings of our nostalgic taste buds, we eat them as snacks, in sandwiches, as a stopgap dinner in the pub and party food. Crisps have always been there for us, so we decided it was about time we celebrated them once again!"
