The Education Minister has announced a crackdown on dodgy international language colleges.
The reforms put forward by the Departments of Justice and Education came after a number of colleges closed in recent months with hundreds of student losing out on fees they had paid.
Under the new rules, schools will need to give a clear declaration of ownership and safeguard advance students payments.
Minister Jan O'Sullivan says the majority of language colleges follow good practice but the Government won't allow Ireland's reputation to be damaged.
