Dublin City Council has agreed to buy historic northside stadium Dalymount Park in a deal worth around 3.4 million euro.

Once finalised this agreement is likely to see the Phibsborough stadium leased to the FAI for the use of both Bohemians and their rivals Shelbourne FC.

It's understood that the deal is dependent on the council reacquiring Shelbourne's current home, Tolka Park for free, so that it can be redeveloped.

Bohemians currently have debts of more than 4 million euro.

It's believed that the club has secured a write down and the council will pay the balance when it takes ownership of the stadium.
