Coronavirus: 10 More Deaths And 159 New Cases In Republic

There have been 10 more coronavirus-related deaths in the Republic.

It means a total of 1,497 people have now died here after contracting COVID-19.

Meanwhile, 159 new cases have also been confirmed - bringing the total number of cases in the country to 23,401.

Health Minister Simon Harris this evening said the latest figures show 19,470 people here have now recovered from COVID-19.

That accounts for more than 84% of those who have contracted this virus to date.

Meanwhile, Chief Medical Officer Dr Tony Holohan today said 432 coronavirus clusters have now been identified in residential homes - an increase of four compared to yesterday.

941 people have now died after contracting COVID-19 in a residential institution, accounting for 63% of the total number of deaths.
